Application of the Hi-Lift Jack First Responder
Abstract
Since the beginning the extrication activities have been closely interwoven with the firefighers job. The development of the technology allowed faster traffic. Accelerated traffic resulted in more and more serious accidents. Manufacturers sought to meet the needs of the increasingly challenging fire brigades. Today, the most important part of extrication equipment are the various winches, lifting tools, spreading and cutting tools. These accessories are available on all fire engines and rescue vehicles in the country. Their functions and operations are well known to all firefighters. One tool may be an interesting and useful alternative what –limited, but suitable- can be used at same time for winching, lifting and stretching. Because of the mechanical and compact design this tool is applicable in areas where the conventional rescue tools are not or it can only be difficult to apply.
