Electrochlorination Alternatives in Mobile Drinking Water Treatment Systems

Abstract

Electrochlorinators are suitable for disinfecting drinking water produced in mobile equipment, because of their compact size and simple operation. Alternative assemblies are described here for possible disinfection technologies. Input data requirements for design and operation calculations are listed. Based on these alternatives, the equipment can be efficiently used for small and large water demands, on both short and long time horizon. Disinfectant by-product formation must be further investigated in the future nonetheless.
