Analysis of Water Quality Requirements in Order to Facilitate Water Reuse Projects

Abstract

Due to climate change the probability of drought and water scarcity event is increased. The efficiency of water resources management may enhance with the implementation of water reuse. Safety is one of the most important criteria of water reuse. European Commission in partnership with Joint Research Centre (JRC) is analysing the implementation of legislation proposal of minimum water quality requirements. The main objective of this article is reviewing minimum water quality requirements having regard to the planning of water reuse projects. Research results facilitate the implementation of water reuse projects in Hungary.
