Analysis of Forklift-Related Accidents During Logistic Activities

Abstract

The physical movement of goods is an integral part of any logistics operation. Widely used tools are forklifts. Unexpected events and accidents are also a threat to human health and logistics goals. Investigating the cause and circumstances of accidents when using a forklift can help prevent further incidents. The human factor is one of the most critical part of the system. The most important tools of prevention are education and passing on experience in order to recognize the risk of accidents. One of the tools of education can be the analysis of the accidents that have already happened. In our article we examine what accidents may happen during logistical operations made by forklift, their proportion, and how they can be used as examples for educational purposes.
