The author summarizes the tasks of firefighters they have to be prepared for averting terrorist attacks. Also introduces the historical background, the forms and characteristics of terrorist attacks and the possible responses, focusing especially on the training and preparation of firefighters. Short introduction of instructions prepared by NATO Civil Protection Committee in 2002–2003, which may be use by member nations as a sample for handling terrorist activities.
